The northern part of the island of Evia is famous for the beach of Agia Ana. It is located 12 km northeast of Limnia and 47 km north of Halkidiki.

During the winter, it has about 1000 inhabitants, with an increase in the number of persons in the summer season that goes up to about 7000 people. The beach of Agia Ana is surrounded by golden sand and the unmissable crystal clear and beautiful sea. This is also one of the most cosmopolitan beaches on the island. Tourists can choose between the organized part of the beach where they will find a large number of sunbeds and the part that is not organized and is located in a dense pine forest and offers a completely impressive enjoyment of the environment.


According to legend, the name Agia Anna (Saint Anne) comes from a miracle that happened in connection with the icon of Saint Anne. At the beginning of the 18th century, the peasants in that region survived a heavy attack by pirates. After that, they found an image of Saint Anne, and as they interpret everything, they declared her the patron saint of this place and the place itself was named after her. Specifically, this village was built in 1776. During the Ottoman occupation of Greece, Agia Anna was the largest and wealthiest municipality in the area, with 60 families living there.
For all adventurers, it is important to say that they can find adrenaline right on the beach of Agia Anna. It is especially known for active sports. Here you can enjoy paragliding, surfing and other sea sports.
